“Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” is a fun movie that mixes different styles, making it feel like a blend of Luv Ranjan’s humor and Sooraj Barjatya’s family vibes, with a touch of Imtiaz Ali’s romance.
The story follows Rohan “Mickey” Arora (played by Ranbir Kapoor) and his best friend Manu Dabbas (Anubhav Singh Bassi). They come from wealthy families and run several businesses together. For fun, they also have a side hustle where they help people break up in a friendly way. Their rule is that they only help unmarried couples, while married ones need to handle their issues through proper channels like court or counseling. Manu is engaged to Kinchi (Monica Chaudhary) but is unsure about the relationship. The group decides to take a trip to Spain for a pre-wedding vacation, and Kinchi’s friend, Nisha “Tinni” Malhotra, joins them.
In Spain, Mickey falls for Tinni, who is open to a casual fling but doesn’t want anything serious. She believes that people are different on vacation, so hookups shouldn’t mean much. Mickey pretends to be really in love with her, and eventually, Tinni agrees to be in a relationship. When they return to India, Mickey’s family, including his mother Renu (Dimple Kapadia), father Ramesh (Boney Kapoor), and others, welcome Tinni as part of their family. They spend a lot of time together, going out for meals and movies, but Tinni, who lives independently, starts to feel overwhelmed by how close they all are.
