In this movie, we see how fans view their favorite stars. Fans often idolize these celebrities and will go to great lengths just to get an autograph or a selfie. For many fans, the star seems perfect and almost like a god. They believe their idol can do no wrong, even if they mess up big time. But what happens when a superfan realizes that their idol is just a regular person with flaws? Will they still admire them or move on? And what if their egos clash?
Selfiee, which is a remake of the Malayalam film Driving Licence, explores these ideas. The story follows superstar Vijay Kumar, played by Akshay Kumar, who comes to Bhopal to film a movie. For a key scene, he needs a valid driving license, but he has lost his. A local politician promises to help him get a new one quickly, with the help of RTO officer Om Prakash Aggarwal, who is a huge fan of Vijay. Om Prakash asks Vijay to come to the police station for a quick formality, but things get complicated when the media finds out.
The movie mixes humor and drama while looking at the relationship between stars and their fans.
