Kajol and Kriti Sanon are fantastic in this film. The story is set in a made-up hill town called Devipur, where police officer Vidya Jyothi (played by Kajol) gets involved in some strange happenings with Saumya (Kriti Sanon) and her husband, Dhruv (Shaheer Sheikh). Things get more complicated when Saumya’s twin sister, Shailee (also Kriti Sanon), shows up unexpectedly, making Vidya wonder if everything is really as it appears.
The movie, written by Kanika Dhillion, who also produced it with Kriti Sanon, addresses the issue of domestic violence while presenting itself as a mystery thriller. It tells a cautionary tale about getting caught up in the wrong kind of love. The film highlights how women have faced abusive relationships for a long time and encourages them to stand up for themselves.
Kajol plays a strong female cop and lawyer, which is a great choice. Her character, Vidya Jyothi, struggles with whether to strictly follow the law or to consider its deeper meaning. She’s independent and doesn’t let the patriarchy or corruption around her bring her down. Kajol also has a great sense of humor, using subtle expressions and voice changes to lighten the mood and make you smile. She shines in this role, showcasing all her talent. Plus, there’s a fun nod to her real-life husband Ajay Devgn during an action scene, which adds a nice touch to the film.
